Principal Consultant (Maximo)

TL;DR

Principal Consultant (Maximo): Lead design and solutioning in enterprise asset management (EAM) implementation projects with an accent on translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Focus on architecting IBM Maximo configurations, developing data conversion and integration strategies, and leading technical or functional tracks.

Location: Hybrid or home-based in Canada, up to 50% travel per year.

What you will do

• Act as trusted advisor to clients, leading workshops to gather and refine business requirements and define to-be processes.
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs, architect, prototype, and document IBM Maximo configurations.
• Develop data conversion strategies and integration solutions with external systems.
• Apply SDLC standards, create process documentation, and participate in testing, change management, training, and post-go-live support.
• Lead defect remediation and ensure technical quality across project deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years hands-on experience in IBM Maximo.
• Proven experience leading functional or technical tracks in Maximo EAM implementations.
• Minimum 5 years collecting end-user requirements through meetings and interviews.
• Minimum 5 years designing solutions meeting end-user requirements.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills; Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Maximo Certification (v7.1 or higher).
• Knowledge of asset-intensive industries (utilities, oil & gas, transportation, manufacturing).
• Experience with Maximo Application Suite (MAS), middleware (WebSphere, REST APIs), Oracle/SQL Server, Enterprise Service Bus, BIRT reports.
