What you will do

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Oracle database code including SQL and PL/SQL procedures, packages, and functions.
• Analyse and improve existing database designs and legacy implementations.
• Collaborate with application developers to review, optimise, and stabilise database interactions.
• Investigate and resolve performance, data integrity, and reliability issues in Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Support monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility of database systems.
• Contribute to standardisation of practices, coding guidelines, and assist with PostgreSQL workloads.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database.
• Excellent SQL and PL/SQL skills, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Experience working with existing and legacy database systems.
• Understanding of application-database interactions in real-world environments.
• Comfortable in setups with shared or evolving ownership.
• Solid problem-solving skills and pragmatic, improvement-driven mindset.
• Ability to collaborate closely with DBAs, developers, and technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Exposure to GCP and managed database services.
• Familiarity with database migrations or refactoring.
• Scripting or automation skills (Python, Bash).
• Basic knowledge of MS SQL Server.
