What you will do

• Define multi-year roadmap for data ingestion platform, data lake, and telemetry systems to scale from thousands to millions of devices.
• Own end-to-end IoT telemetry strategy for data collection from solar inverters and EV chargers across residential and commercial projects.
• Collaborate with engineering on scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Kafka, Spark, Airflow and storage solutions like S3, Iceberg/Parquet for time-series data.
• Partner with operations to standardize data models across multiple OEMs.
• Develop requirements for VPP telemetry and control interfaces ensuring low-latency communication for grid services.
• Translate business needs into PRDs for data engineers and establish SLAs for data reliability, latency, and quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years product management experience, including 3+ years in data engineering, IoT platforms, or data-intensive B2B SaaS.
• Experience in renewable energy sector (solar, wind, storage) or smart grid technologies (VPP, DERMS).
• Strong understanding of IoT protocols (MQTT, Modbus, OPC-UA), cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and data processing (Kafka, Spark).
• Proficiency in SQL and ability to analyze large datasets for data-driven decisions.
• Systems thinking to map complex physical-to-digital workflows and enable automation.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience building real-time monitoring dashboards or predictive maintenance tools.
• Background in energy market telemetry requirements (ISO/RTO).
