What you will do

• Design and develop core animation systems specifically for VR gameplay.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate animation with gameplay and narrative.
• Drive innovation in procedural animation, IK systems, and runtime rigging.
• Set the technical direction and long-term strategy for animation technology.
• Mentor junior and mid-level programmers to foster technical excellence.
• Evaluate and implement new tools and middleware to enhance animation workflows.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of Unreal Engine animation blueprints and control rig.
• Advanced C++ knowledge with a focus on high-performance programming.
• Experience with motion matching, performance capture, and the Metahuman pipeline.
• Proven track record in VR development and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of real-time animation principles.
• Must be based in the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with Metahuman character optimization, Mutable, and DNA pipelines.
• Familiarity with Shotgrid based content pipelines and Shotgrid API.
