What you will do

• Design, develop, and test data processing tools and features.
• Process large datasets through production data pipelines.
• Write high-quality, clean, scalable, and maintainable code within a large shared codebase.
• Contribute ideas for new data processing tools or improvements to existing workflows.
• Collaborate with colleagues via code reviews and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience working with large PHP codebases.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL and Python.
• Comfortable using Linux CLI and Docker.
• Advanced relational database and data manipulation skills.
• Must be based in Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with geospatial demographic, business, marketing, or health data.
• Experience with PostGIS.
• Knowledge of data orchestration platforms such as Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect.
• Experience with AWS or static analyzers like Psalm.
• Familiarity with open-source GIS software (QGIS, GRASS).
