Software QA Engineer

TL;DR

Software QA Engineer: Design, write, execute, and maintain test cases and test plans for software in wafer processing solutions with an accent on Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps. Focus on defect tracking, regression testing, and validating product backlog items in cross-functional teams.

Location: Newport, United Kingdom (onsite, full-time)

SPTS division of hirify.global designs, manufactures, and markets wafer processing solutions including etch and deposition technologies for semiconductors, MEMS, advanced packaging, and power devices.

What you will do

• Design, write, execute, and maintain test cases and test plans using Azure DevOps.
• Log, track, and manage defects with reproduction steps, including edge cases and negative testing.
• Validate PBIs for quality and completeness before release.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders on requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support regression, smoke, and functional testing; report metrics and provide feedback.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in QA/software testing and STLC.
• Strong skills in writing, executing, and maintaining test plans and cases with test design techniques.
• Ability to identify edge case scenarios.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools/frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in Agile teams.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for stories, tasks, test cases, plans, and defect tracking.

Nice to have

• Experience in hardware or tool-based testing.
• Exposure to testing complex systems or integrated environments.
• Experience in performance, usability, accessibility, or security testing.
