Remote Certified Medical Assistant (Contract / Part Time)

Location: United States (fully remote, 8AM–8PM EST, 7 days a week)

What you will do

• Assist patients with connecting to telehealth video visits and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Guide patients through virtual intake process, collecting vital signs, medical history, and medication reconciliation.
• Administer screening questionnaires and document all interactions in EHR systems like AthenaOne and Healthie.
• Handle inbound calls, provide live phone support, and manage patient care workflows from outreach to resolution.
• Escalate abnormal vital signs or clinical concerns to RNs and index cases for prioritization using Salesforce.

Requirements

• 3-5 years as Certified Medical Assistant (remote CMA experience preferred), certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.
• High school diploma or equivalent; experience with high call volumes in fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with EHR systems (AthenaOne preferred), tech-savvy with Slack and Google Suite.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Proven experience working with diverse patient populations.

Nice to have

• Experience with AthenaOne EHR, Salesforce, Slack, or similar platforms.
• 2-4 years of telehealth or phone-based patient care experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
