Investigative Analyst

TL;DR

Investigative Analyst (Background Screening): Create profiles of subjects’ identity, addresses, professional and educational history using 3rd party platforms, proprietary records, and social media with an accent on distinguishing relevant findings for customer deliverables. Focus on analyzing litigation, corporate, criminal records through risk mitigation lens, documenting in reports, and conducting occasional interviews for verification.

What you will do

• Create initial identity builds and detailed search strings using Boolean logic across databases like LexisNexis, Factiva, TLO, and social media such as LinkedIn.
• Analyze records including litigation filings, corporate records, liens, judgments, criminal records, and news media for value add and risk.
• Accurately enter findings into reporting templates within strict deadlines using standard phraseology.
• Locate and suggest interview subjects, conduct interviews on business histories, and make verification/clarification calls.
• Provide insights and expertise on subjects as investigations progress and support customer deliverables.

Requirements

• Proficiency in English and French for communication with global clients.
• Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent; research degrees or investigative experience a plus.
• 1–3 years in investigative research or related role.
• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, Boolean search skills; LexisNexis/TLO knowledge a plus.
• Strong research skills, critical thinking, analytical abilities, exceptional written/verbal communication.
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
