What you will do

• Develop end-to-end features across frontend, backend-for-frontend, and service layers to improve team collaboration in ChatGPT.
• Design activation and engagement systems, including product hooks, discovery surfaces, and admin-to-user rollout flows.
• Partner with engineering teams focused on security, permissions, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA/FINRA) to ensure enterprise readiness.
• Integrate AI agent experiences into the ChatGPT interface to make them native, safe, and scalable for business use.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience at tech and product-driven companies.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, React, and modern web technologies.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Experience with distributed systems concepts and relational databases like Postgres or MySQL.
• Proven ability to navigate loosely defined tasks and manage competing priorities in a fast-growing environment.
• Must be based in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience as a former founder or early engineer at a startup who built a product from scratch.
• Strong interest in AI/ML.
