Field Service Technician

TL;DR

Field Service Technician (Feed & Biofuel): Provide on-site service, maintenance, and technical support for equipment in Feed, Biomass, Pet Food, Extrusion, and Industrial sectors with an accent on installation, troubleshooting, repair, and customer training. Focus on resolving mechanical issues, performing precision measurements, and ensuring safe, efficient service delivery in industrial environments.

Location: Must be located in the U.S. Midwest, specifically within 100 miles of Minneapolis, Minnesota or Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Location type: Remote. Willingness to travel approximately 70% within North America (U.S. and Canada). Must be eligible for travel to Canada.

What you will do

• Provide technical support to customers, field technicians, and sales/account managers.
• Participate in equipment start-ups, commissioning, and complex repair work.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, installation, or performance problems using drawings, schematics, and precision tools.
• Support account managers with parts identification for repairs, rebuilds, and warranty work.
• Complete service reports, invoicing, and administrative tasks; participate in trade shows, demonstrations, and training.
• Maintain safe work practices and be on call for emergencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent education/experience.
• Proficiency in mechanical systems, assembly, equipment repair, and reading engineering drawings.
• Strong communication skills, math proficiency, and ability to work independently.
• Self-motivated with organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., perform physical work in industrial environments, and travel extensively.
• Maintain valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Nice to have

• Experience with pelleting, grinding, and ancillary Feed & Biofuel processes.
• Previous field service or technical support in industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with customer service, warranty coordination, and training.
• SAP experience.
