What you will do

• Lead technical engagements across business units and own the technical domain for logistics operations.
• Line manage and mentor Data Scientists in optimization and data science best practices.
• Translate ambiguous business challenges into scalable data science problems and applications.
• Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle from development to productionised data products.
• Build mathematical models on big data architectures to improve customer experience and business efficiency.
• Promote data science initiatives both internally at hirify.global and within the external professional community.

Requirements

• Specialist knowledge in Operations Research and Simulations, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Forecasting, or NLP.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, Scala, or Go.
• Experience leading technical Data Science developments specifically within the logistics sector.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders on complex technical topics.
• Experience partnering with technology teams to roll out developments at scale.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid pattern from Welwyn Garden City, UK.
