What you will do

• Own and maintain the Explosive Safety Management System specific to formulation and synthesis processes.
• Approve safety cases, site plans, and process hazard analyses (PHA) for energetic formulations and synthesis routes.
• Lead hazard identification, HAZOPs, and energetic-specific risk assessments for scale-up activities.
• Establish safe operating limits and change control for formulations from lab to pilot and production stages.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis for safety events, implementing corrective actions across R&D and production.
• Manage licensing, permits, and technical documentation required by national regulators and internal governance.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in energetic materials safety or munitions safety.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Safety Engineering, or Explosives Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience supporting formulation and synthesis teams in both R&D and production environments.
• Deep knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA and ISO 45001.
• Proficiency in hazard analysis methods and risk assessment frameworks.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Nice to have

• Master's degree or advanced safety qualifications.
• Prior experience in defense, aerospace, or regulated energetic materials labs.
