TL;DR

Data Platform Engineer (K8s/Spark): Designing and building a comprehensive data infrastructure from scratch with an accent on architecture ownership and system scalability. Focus on integrating Airflow and Spark on Kubernetes, deploying Trino, and executing a complex Tableau migration.

Location: Temporary Remote with mandatory future relocation to Limassol, Cyprus

What you will do

  • Design and build data infrastructure from scratch with full ownership of architecture decisions.
  • Deploy and maintain VLogs, VMetrics, and Iceberg Catalog.
  • Implement DataGov catalog and deploy Airflow on Kubernetes integrated with Spark.
  • Configure Spark History Server, Spark Connect, and SparkOperator.
  • Administer Trino and migrate Tableau to the new infrastructure.
  • Develop CI/CD Helm chart templates.

Requirements

  • Production experience with Kubernetes (k8s).
  • Solid understanding of data platform tooling: Airflow, Spark, Trino or equivalents.
  • Experience with Helm and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong autonomy to handle large, ambiguous tasks independently.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Limassol, Cyprus.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Iceberg, DataGov, or similar data catalog solutions.
  • Experience migrating analytical tools such as Tableau.
