Sr. Software Engineer

TL;DR

Sr. Software Engineer: Design, develop, integrate, and maintain object-oriented software applications and instrument drivers for on-site factory support of weapon system product development with an accent on C#, C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio on Windows OS. Focus on troubleshooting software and test equipment instrumentation, deriving requirements, leading junior engineers, and collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.

Onsite: Tucson, AZ. Active Secret Clearance required.

Rate: $70.00/hr - $100.00/hr W2 (depends on experience and benefits chosen).

What you will do

• Design, develop, and integrate object-oriented software applications using C#, C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio on Windows OS.
• Prioritize and handle multiple software engineering tasks concurrently.
• Troubleshoot software and test equipment instrumentation.
• Work in multidisciplinary engineering teams, independently or collaboratively.
• Develop and derive requirements for software products.
• Lead and mentor junior software engineers.
• Contribute to all stages of product development for weapon system products.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in STEM + 8 years experience, or Advanced degree + 5 years.
• Experience developing and integrating software using C++, C#, Java, Python, or Visual Basic.
• Experience with IDEs, debugging tools, Windows OS, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Experience in laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters).

Nice to have

• Computer architecture and hardware optimization.
• Software drivers for hardware interfaces.
• Protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422.
• UML for software architecture.
• Software lifecycles (Waterfall, Agile), SCM, Azure DevOps/GitHub.
• Communication skills, leading teams/projects.
