Security Engineer

Location: Remote across North America, APJ, and EMEA

Salary: $135K–$300K plus equity

What you will do

• Own security across applications, services, infrastructure, and developer workflows.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks in infrastructure and application codebases.
• Lead secure code reviews, architecture discussions, and threat modeling sessions.
• Build tooling and automations that prevent security issues before production.
• Harden authentication and access control across internal and external surfaces.
• Investigate vulnerabilities, respond to incidents, and manage disclosure processes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on security engineering.
• Experience leading or substantially contributing to security work across applications, infrastructure, or both.
• Experience with threat modeling, secure coding, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with CI/CD systems, cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, and containerized environments.
• Experience responding to security incidents, leading postmortems, or driving remediation.

Nice to have

• Security review experience with WebRTC, media pipelines, or real-time systems.
• Contributions to open-source security tooling or research.
• Hands-on experience with static and dynamic analysis, fuzzing, or sandboxing.
• Experience building with hirify.global.
