Electronics Engineer (Embedded)

TL;DR

Electronics Engineer (Embedded/Defence): Designing and manufacturing advanced electro-mechanical systems for defence clients with an accent on hardware design and embedded solutions. Focus on PCB layout using Altium, EMC compliance, and high-speed digital design for high-performance systems.

Location: On-site in West Melbourne, Australia. Must be an Australian Citizen (ITAR compliance).

Salary: $110,000 – $120,000 + Super

What you will do

• Design, simulate, prototype, and test electronic and electromechanical systems across the full product lifecycle.
• Create PCB schematics and layouts using Altium.
• Perform functional, performance, and compliance testing, including EMC.
• Develop high-speed digital designs and embedded systems for high-performance defence applications.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and project teams to align hardware solutions with project requirements.
• Support manufacturing processes and ensure certification compliance to defence standards such as MIL-STD-461.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of experience in electronics engineering and hardware design.
• Proficiency with Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience with EMC compliance and high-speed digital design.
• Mandatory Australian Citizenship for ITAR compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience in defence or military systems and their project lifecycles.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with M1 ERP systems.
