Senior Android Engineer (Edtech)

What you will do

• Partner with product managers and designers to define, build, and ship new features for the ParentSquare Android app.
• Maintain and enhance existing Android applications using modern frameworks and best practices.
• Lead projects aimed at serving educators and families at a massive scale.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while participating in code reviews and debugging.
• Improve the scalability, security, and performance of the overall mobile ecosystem.
• Mentor other engineers and collaborate closely across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Strong experience developing Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java.
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, ViewModels, and MVVM architecture.
• Proficiency with Coroutines, Kotlin Flows, and reactive programming.
• Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs with JSON.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and mobile release processes such as Fastlane and CircleCI.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Openness to using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Gemini, or Cursor.
