TL;DR
Field Services Engineer: Deliver onsite IT service, support, and implementation at client locations with an accent on server administration, networking technologies, virtualization, and cloud services. Focus on troubleshooting Windows servers, Active Directory, Hyper-V, VMWare, firewalls, switches, and ensuring seamless operations through collaboration with internal teams.
Location: Independence, Ohio (onsite, local travel to customer sites required)
Salary: $60,000-$75,000

What you will do
- Conduct Business Transformation Assessments including onsite IT asset discovery, documentation, and data gathering.
- Provide onsite technical support for networking, servers, virtualization (Windows Server, Hyper-V, VMWare), Active Directory, firewalls, switches, backups, and cloud services (Office 365, Azure, G-Suite).
- Collaborate with Service Desk, Operations, TOC, and vendors to resolve issues, execute maintenance plans, and manage client onboarding.
- Document issues, labor, and network status in the ticket system while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Participate in training, attain certifications, and build relationships with customers, engineers, and vendors.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years in IT field services; must be authorized to work in the United States
- Experience with Windows Server (2012-2025), Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V), storage (SAN/NAS), firewalls/switches (Cisco Meraki, HP), backups, Office 365/Azure, mobile OS, RMM tools (N-Able, Kaseya).
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Microsoft Fundamentals certification; CompTIA Network+/A+/Security+ preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, customer service skills; ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
Nice to have
- MSP experience.
- ITIL, Service Management, HaloPSA knowledge.
- Event/incident management systems experience.
