Software Engineer

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Nispera APM): Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software components for a unified asset performance management platform optimizing renewables and storage assets with an accent on scalable solutions, performance optimization, and integration with data pipelines. Focus on implementing microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, containerization, and ensuring high availability for large-scale deployments.

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in office) Switzerland - Zurich

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain software components for the Nispera platform.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Tech Leads, and cross-functional teams in agile Scrum sprints.
• Implement scalable, secure, and reliable solutions for monitoring renewable energy and battery storage systems.
• Optimize application performance and ensure high availability for large-scale deployments.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and best practices.
• Integrate with data pipelines, APIs, and cloud services for analytics and reporting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years software development experience.
• Strong ability to articulate technical concepts in written and spoken English.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile Scrum environment.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Node.js with scalable REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL; TimescaleDB a plus).
• Experience designing and maintaining unit/integration tests using Jest.
• Experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD tools, and Git.

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of Typescript and Nest.js.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EKS, ECR, S3, API Gateway).
• Previous experience in the energy sector, especially renewables or battery storage.
