Software Engineering Intern

TL;DR

Software Engineering Intern (Ruby): Assist in modernizing cloud-based construction management platform with an accent on backend migration, feature implementation, and deployment workflows. Location: Kyiv, Ukraine (remote work with distributed international team)

Partnering with a leading construction management company to develop cloud-based software for managing finances, quality, teams, and risks in major projects like skyscrapers and hospitals.

What you will do

• Assist in migrating features to new architecture using modern technologies and custom libraries.
• Support design, implementation, and testing of scalable and secure products.
• Work with tech stack including Ruby on Rails, Postgres, AWS, Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, and React/JavaScript.
• Write unit/functional tests to improve code coverage and automation.
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge-sharing, and daily check-ins.
• Collaborate with distributed team to resolve blockers and code conflicts.

Requirements

• Good communication in English.
• Pursuing or recently completed degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of software development concepts and OOP principles.
• Experience creating RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Ruby/RoR or Python (willingness to learn Ruby/RoR).
• Ability to work in remote asynchronous multinational team using Zoom and Slack.
• Good problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, proactive attitude.

• Basic exposure to React, Webpack, Jest, NPM, or TypeScript.
