TL;DR

International Commercial Strategy Lead (ESN): Translating German go-to-market playbook into market-specific strategies for international sales teams with an accent on market entry, assortment curation, promotional guardrails, and in-store activations. Focus on adapting strategies to local dynamics, enabling sales execution with actionable materials, and tracking performance through KPIs like distribution and promo ROI.

Location: Netherlands, UK or Germany, remote with flexibility to travel between international European markets and regular visits (1-2x/month) to HQ in Hamburg, Germany.

What you will do

  • Define market entry strategies by identifying winning channels, key accounts, and categories while adapting the German playbook to local dynamics.
  • Curate A-assortment by building a focused product portfolio balancing hero SKUs with local retailer needs.
  • Set promotional guardrails including pricing, promotion depth, and trade investment to protect brand equity.
  • Develop in-store activation playbooks and channel-specific toolkits for sales teams.
  • Enable sales teams with actionable materials like sell-in decks, assortment rationale, and promotional frameworks.
  • Track performance with KPIs (distribution, sell-through, promo ROI) and establish review cadences.
  • Ensure brand alignment as interface between German core team and international markets.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in key account management, category management, and trade marketing, ideally in sports nutrition, FMCG, or consumer health.
  • Strong KAM expertise with full ownership of major accounts, including JBP negotiations and trade term management.
  • Mastery of category management tools: range reviews, planogram development, shopper insights, space-to-sales optimization.
  • Deep trade marketing experience in activation planning, promotional architecture, sell-in materials, and in-store execution.
  • Experience across multiple European markets and ability to adapt strategies locally.
  • Fluent in English; German or another European language as a strong plus.
