Salary: $135,000 – $140,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead and mentor the lighting team, providing creative guidance and communicating client feedback clearly.
• Execute high-priority "hero work" on active shows to ensure all deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with VFX, CG, and Compositing Supervisors to align lighting with the project's overall vision.
• Develop and maintain department standards, documentation, and innovative production processes.
• Review dailies and final shots to ensure quality control, continuity, and aesthetic consistency.
• Coordinate with production management to assess crew size and efficiently delegate tasks.

Requirements

• Must be based in British Columbia and eligible to work in Canada
• 5+ years of experience in digital lighting for live-action films, series, or commercials.
• Expert knowledge of physically plausible renderers, specifically Arnold.
• Senior-level proficiency in Python scripting for tool and pipeline development.
• Strong understanding of linear color-space and procedural lighting workflows.
• Proven leadership and communication skills for managing and coaching artists.

Nice to have

• Experience leading teams of 6+ people on large-scale projects.
• Practical experience in Look Development, Shading, or Surfacing.
