Sr. Data Engineer

TL;DR

Sr. Data Engineer: Building unified data technologies to support advanced business analytics with an accent on ELT processes, data modeling, and reporting structures. Focus on designing and optimizing data pipelines, establishing dashboards for KPIs, and mentoring junior data engineers.

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Seattle, Washington, United States. Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Annual base salary: $140,000-$170,000. Target annual bonus percentage: 10%.

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, and maintain database and reporting structures to compile insights.
• Define, develop, and review ELT processes and data modeling solutions.
• Evolve data processes following industry best practices and build reports/dashboards for business KPIs.
• Improve quality assurance standards, mentor junior data engineers, and stay updated on data technologies.
• Support company vision through role modeling and participate in initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in data engineering: data pipelines, modeling, architecture, cleansing, governance, and quality.
• Expert advanced SQL for large datasets and automated reporting; 5+ years Python for pipelines, ETL/ELT, analysis.
• Expertise in ETL/ELT (Airflow), distributed messaging (Kafka), data modeling change (SQLMesh), alerting, observability (DataLab).
• Proficient in data storage/warehousing (Snowflake), cloud-native deployments (Kubernetes), data governance/compliance.
• Exceptional problem-solving, communication; experience with enterprise tech (CRM, ERP, etc.) a plus.

• Experience working with enterprise technologies like CRM, ERP, Marketing Automation Platforms, Financial Systems.
