Location: 100% on-site position based in Stockholm, Sweden

What you will do

• Define and evolve backend technology stack based on system constraints and long-term maintainability
• Drive architectural decisions across backend services, infrastructure, and data layer
• Design APIs and services for high concurrency and large volumes of real-money transactions
• Build data models and transaction flows ensuring consistency and integrity
• Identify bottlenecks and improve throughput, latency, and reliability
• Own critical systems end-to-end and collaborate on code reviews and design discussions

Requirements

• Strong computer science fundamentals and experience building reliable, high-performance backend systems
• Experience designing and operating high-volume distributed systems
• Deep understanding of data integrity, concurrency, failure modes, and maintainability
• Knowledge of scalability including data modeling, caching, consistency, and concurrency control
• Comfortable making architectural decisions with long-term impact and taking ownership of problems
• Experience with high-throughput workloads, API design, observability, security, and performance engineering

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, fintech, gaming, or real-money transaction domains
• Multi-region system design, event-driven architectures, and Postgres in high-write environments
• Containerized infrastructure, infrastructure as code, and load testing
