Enterprise Architect

TL;DR

Enterprise Architect: Drive long-term alignment of enterprise technology capabilities to business, product, and technology strategy with an accent on product/platform architecture principles and guardrails. Focus on designing distributed systems, advancing platform development through communities of practice, and governing architectural changes via reviews and boards.

Location: Toronto, flexible hybrid work model. Eligibility to work for hirify.global Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity required.

Salary: $145K-155K base + short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Involve in product/platform strategy development by providing architectural principles, guardrails, and backlog support.
• Participate in technology strategy via Architecture Strategy CoE, stewarding target state architecture and cross-platform roadmaps.
• Initiate squad spikes by evaluating solutions, supporting POCs, and guiding product realization with platform teams.
• Advance platform alignment to product needs through Product and Platform CoP/Guild, synchronizing release planning.
• Craft, document, and socialize product/platform architectures per hirify.global standards.
• Govern architectural changes via peer reviews, architecture review boards, and steering committees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related.
• 5+ years progressive software engineering experience, 2+ years in enterprise/solutions architecture.
• Demonstrated track record designing and delivering distributed systems in production.
• Hands-on experience architecting microservices-based platforms (service decomposition, REST/gRPC/async messaging, API gateways).
• Proficiency in event-driven architecture, CQRS, saga patterns, eventual consistency.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate), service mesh (Istio, Consul).
• Working knowledge of observability (distributed tracing, structured logging, SLO/SLA monitoring).
