What you will do

• Lead discovery and assessment of existing data platform and architecture
• Map current-state data systems and identify gaps, risks, and dependencies
• Evaluate alignment between existing architecture and future-state data strategy
• Provide clear recommendations to support strategic decision-making
• Work hands-on with data engineers on pipelines, integrations, and Azure components
• Engage senior stakeholders, including C-suite, to communicate findings and influence direction
• Support roadmap definition post-discovery

Requirements

• Proven experience in leadership positions
• Strong background in data architecture assessment, discovery, or technical reviews
• Hands-on expertise with Azure data platforms (Databricks, Synapse, Fabric)
• Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, and PySpark
• Knowledge of streaming technologies (Kafka, Azure Event Hubs)
• ETL experience using Azure Data Factory
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including with senior leadership
• Ability to operate in complex, evolving environments
