Principal Development Technician

TL;DR

Principal Development Technician (UAS/Aerospace): Manage UAS inventory, perform maintenance on platforms, payloads, and support equipment, and support integration and testing of avionics, propulsion, and communication systems with an accent on compliance, safety, and operational readiness. Focus on prototype builds, hardware modifications, tool maintenance, and collaboration with engineering and quality teams during audits and evaluations.

What you will do

• Ensure hangar activities comply with safety, security, and facility manuals.
• Manage UAS inventory including labeling, packaging, handling, and storage.
• Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on UAS platforms, payloads, and equipment per Master Maintenance Schedule.
• Support integration, functional testing, and validation of avionics, propulsion, and communication systems.
• Assist in prototype builds, hardware integration, and modifications under engineering supervision.
• Maintain tools, conduct incoming inspections, and follow OEM manuals for maintenance tasks.
• Participate in audits and provide technical feedback during design and testing phases.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a technician in aerospace, unmanned systems, or defense.
• Hands-on experience with UAS platforms, avionics, propulsion systems, and payload integration.
• Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures, quality systems, and safety protocols.
