Senior Backend Engineer (Ecommerce)

TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Order Fulfillment): Building and owning end-to-end order fulfillment workflows and integrations with an accent on logistics, scalable APIs, and reliable order processing. Focus on breaking down monoliths into microservices, handling high loads (2M+ requests/min), and ensuring system observability and performance.

Location: Hybrid in Vilnius or Kaunas, Lithuania (2 days in office recommended but not enforced)

Salary: €4,975 - €6,725 gross per month

What you will do

• Develop business logic and APIs for order fulfillment, handling 2M+ requests per minute and 12-15 transactions per second.
• Break down large monoliths into smaller services, own architecture, deployment, observability, and performance tuning using Grafana and Kibana.
• Collaborate in cross-functional team with mobile, web, and backend engineers to deliver features impacting 80M users.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews via GitHub, A/B testing all changes, and on-call rotations.
• Define SLIs/SLOs, write unit tests with RSpec, and contribute to technical decisions in the Order domain.

Requirements

• Familiarity with Software Engineering, Distributed Systems, Systems Architecture, and Service Oriented Architecture.
• Understanding of enterprise architecture patterns, microservices pros/cons.
• Experience with Golang, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Memcached, Elasticsearch (prior experience not required with all).
• Eager to learn new technologies, improve processes, and engage in constructive discussions.
• Ability to work in data-driven environment with rapid deployments to production.
