3D Art Lead (Gamedev)

3D Art Lead (Gamedev): Support the Head of Art in driving production, maintaining quality, and managing a growing team of artists for live-service game environments, props, and cosmetics with an accent on hands-on creation, team leadership, and production ownership. Focus on reviewing assets, optimizing workflows, enforcing pipelines, and ensuring timely delivery under performance constraints.

Location: Remote (U.S. Only). Must be based in the United States

Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Execute visual direction for environments and assets
• Manage and mentor 3D artists including environment, props, and outsource
• Review assets and provide feedback on modeling, texturing, lighting, and polish
• Own art production workflows, scoping, and on-time delivery
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and production to align art with gameplay and tech needs
• Enforce pipelines, naming conventions, optimization standards, and performance targets

Requirements

• Strong experience creating 3D environments and props (modeling, texturing, lighting)
• Demonstrated leadership: mentoring artists, leading teams, owning production quality and delivery
• Proficiency in Blender, Maya, 3ds Max or similar
• Experience working in-engine (Roblox Studio or similar)
• Fast-paced or live-ops production environment experience
• Strong optimization knowledge, communication, and organizational skills

Nice to have

• Managing outsourced artists or vendors
• Building or improving art pipelines and documentation
• Familiarity with stylized art pipelines and technical constraints
