VoIP Engineer

VoIP Engineer (VoIP): Design new features for the hirify.global Telephony Engine and guide software developers on implementation with an accent on SIP proxies, traffic analysis, and protocol troubleshooting. Focus on operating Kamailio/OpenSIPS, handling level 3 escalations, building monitoring tools, and interfacing with partners for interconnections.

What you will do

• Understand Telephony services integration and operate/maintain SIP proxies based on Kamailio or OpenSIPS.
• Handle level 3 troubleshooting escalations, analyze traffic patterns, and resolve voice/network issues.
• React to critical alerts, design/deploy monitoring/alerting tools, and coordinate maintenance events.
• Work with engineers, business, sales, and operations to solve user communications challenges and build features.
• Interface with partners for interconnections and expansions.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications or similar.
• Strong understanding of IP telephony (VoIP), TCP/IP, SIP, RTP, RTCP, ISUP, TLS, STUN, TURN, WebRTC.
• Experience with Kamailio, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, RTPEngine, Asterisk, Wireshark, sngrep, Homer.
• Experience with Linux, open source tools, shell scripting, Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes.
