IRIS2 Satellite AIT System Engineer (Space Segment): Overseeing integration, assembly, and testing of IRIS2 satellites with an accent on manufacturing follow-up, AIT planning, and subsystem engineering. Location: Onsite presence at ESTEC (Noordwijk, Netherlands) as required. Must be eligible to live and work in the EU and obtain Personal Security Clearance (PSC) to ESA SECRET / EU SECRET level.

What you will do

• Support integration, assembly, and testing (AIT) activities for IRIS2 satellites and space segment.
• Follow up on manufacturing, subsystem engineering, and procurement tasks.
• Review architecture definitions, perform requirements engineering, and conduct design trade-offs.
• Define and manage interfaces, identify risks, and support mitigation planning.
• Participate in major technical reviews (RR, PDR, CDR, QR, IOVR), evaluate deliverables, and prepare comments.
• Produce technical notes, RIDs, trade-off reports, and contribute to risk assessments.

Requirements

• Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in spacecraft AIT or satellite subsystem engineering.
• Familiarity with space segment development, manufacturing, and major reviews (RR, PDR, CDR, QR, IOVR).
• Understanding of spacecraft architecture, AIT planning, requirements engineering, interfaces, and risk assessment.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical skills, precise technical communication, and ability to coordinate with teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ECSS standards relevant to AIT and verification.
