Senior Data Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake/DBT/Airflow): Develop and deploy abstracted data models following the Medallion concept (Silver and Gold layers) with an accent on data transformation, modeling, and efficient access via Snowflake features. Focus on collaborating with teams to design models, translating legacy SQL, developing Airflow DAGs, and managing infrastructure with Terraform.

What you will do

• Utilize SQL and tools like DBT and Coalesce to develop and deploy data models following the Medallion concept
• Leverage Snowflake features including data sharing, dynamic tables, RBAC, Notebooks, Streamlit apps, Workspaces, and Cortex
• Collaborate with engineering teams, analysts, and end-users to gather requirements and design data models
• Clean up and translate legacy SQL logic into a unified data representation system
• Develop DAGs in Apache Airflow for data products delivery to partners
• Manage Snowflake and Airflow infrastructure using Terraform

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Development, Computer Engineering, or equivalent (Master’s preferred)
• Minimum 6 years in data engineering or software development
• Experience in banking/financial data preferred
• Strong SQL skills for extraction and transformation
• Experience in Data Modeling and Medallion concepts
• Familiarity with data transformation tools (Coalesce, DBT)
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, cloud data environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving skills

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Data Vault architecture
