Senior MIP Developer

TL;DR

Senior MIP Developer: Enhance and expand optimization algorithms and APIs for the Gurobi solver with an accent on solving mathematical programming problems such as LP, QP, QCP, MILP, MIQP, MIQCP. Focus on proposing, implementing, benchmarking new algorithmic ideas, improving solver performance, and developing efficient user-friendly APIs.

Location: Global Remote, home office, participate in meetings across global time zones with reasonable constraints, occasional travel required

What you will do

• Lead development and enhancement of algorithms for LP, QP, QCP, MILP, MIQP, MIQCP and similar problems.
• Collaborate with small team of skilled developers on independent and team-based work.
• Provide internal support for product and marketing functions.
• Develop test cases and product documentation for new capabilities.
• Present features at technical conferences and engage with users.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Operations Research, Computer Science or related, or Master's with years of LP/MIP solver development experience
• 5+ years developing high-performance mathematical programming solvers in C/C++ across LP, MIP, SOCP, NLP, MIQCP, MINLP
• 3+ years C programming, strong software design and parallel computing knowledge
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Comfortable in remote home office, international collaboration
• Proficiency in macOS and Microsoft 365

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating solver performance and numerical robustness
• Knowledge of C++, Java, C#, Python, Matlab, R
• Additional language skills
