Housing Specialist

TL;DR

Housing Specialist (Refugee Support): Lead implementation of RSS Extended Cultural Orientation program and provide direct housing support to refugees and ORR-eligible immigrants experiencing housing insecurity with an accent on assessments, outreach, and personalized interventions. Focus on designing orientation classes, enrolling families, coordinating delivery, and building housing partnerships for long-term self-sufficiency.

Location: Louisville, KY, USA. Hybrid work model including office-based, remote, and field work within the service delivery area. May require occasional evening or weekend work.

Compensation: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour (US-based candidates).

What you will do

• Design and implement extended cultural orientation program for refugees in the US over 90 days.
• Conduct outreach, intake assessments, and enrollment for housing support services.
• Coordinate orientation classes, including scheduling interpreters and inviting clients.
• Assist families with housing needs based on service plans and maintain relationships with housing partners.
• Recruit and train volunteers or interns.
• Perform follow-ups and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma required; Bachelor’s in social work or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in human services; experience with refugees/immigrants strongly preferred.
• Strong relationship building, diplomacy, networking, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural environments with attention to detail.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet, and digital tools for data entry and research.
