What you will do
- Develop and optimize localization and mapping algorithms using LIDAR, RADAR, UWB, and IMU sensors.
- Improve integrity monitoring to ensure a robust and safe localization system for passenger transport.
- Conduct simulation, unit testing, and end-to-end scenario testing of the autonomy stack.
- Perform detailed performance analysis by replaying logs from simulated and live tests.
- Collaborate on the design of safety-critical software components for vehicles and wayside systems.
- Solve complex challenges to provide centimeter-level accuracy in GPS-denied environments.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Masters or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or related field (graduating within 12 months).
- Proficiency in modern C++ (C++17 or later) and familiarity with gtest.
- Experience with build systems like CMake and/or Bazel.
- Knowledge of state estimation, Kalman filtering, SLAM, or point cloud processing.
- Comfort working in a Linux environment with Git version control.
- Must be based in the United States.
Nice to have
- Experience with robotics middleware (ROS, ROS2, LCM).
- Familiarity with autonomous vehicle simulation frameworks.
- Prior hands-on experience with LiDAR, RADAR, IMU, or GPS sensors.
