What you will do

  • Develop and optimize localization and mapping algorithms using LIDAR, RADAR, UWB, and IMU sensors.
  • Improve integrity monitoring to ensure a robust and safe localization system for passenger transport.
  • Conduct simulation, unit testing, and end-to-end scenario testing of the autonomy stack.
  • Perform detailed performance analysis by replaying logs from simulated and live tests.
  • Collaborate on the design of safety-critical software components for vehicles and wayside systems.
  • Solve complex challenges to provide centimeter-level accuracy in GPS-denied environments.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Masters or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or related field (graduating within 12 months).
  • Proficiency in modern C++ (C++17 or later) and familiarity with gtest.
  • Experience with build systems like CMake and/or Bazel.
  • Knowledge of state estimation, Kalman filtering, SLAM, or point cloud processing.
  • Comfort working in a Linux environment with Git version control.
  • Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience with robotics middleware (ROS, ROS2, LCM).
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle simulation frameworks.
  • Prior hands-on experience with LiDAR, RADAR, IMU, or GPS sensors.
