Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (Azure): Designing and managing secure cloud solutions for federal IT environments with an accent on Azure infrastructure, Terraform IaC, and AVD deployment. Focus on automating cloud operations via GitLab pipelines, ensuring compliance with federal security frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP), and optimizing Azure networking.

Location: Hybrid (Washington, DC) - 4 days on-site required. U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret clearance are mandatory.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure including VMs, VNets, and PaaS services.
• Develop and maintain Terraform templates for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments and optimize performance for users.
• Build and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Ensure compliance with NIST, RMF, and FedRAMP security standards.
• Optimize Azure networking components like NSGs, Load Balancers, and ExpressRoute.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance or higher.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• 3+ years of experience with Azure Cloud Engineering, Terraform, and GitLab.
• 4+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
• 5+ years overall experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Systems Engineering.
• Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes (AKS).
• Knowledge of Azure serverless tools (Functions, Logic Apps).
• Experience with FinOps and Azure Cost Management.
• Previous support for DoD or federal agency cloud environments.
