TL;DR

Azure Cloud Engineer (Azure/DevOps): Designing and managing secure cloud solutions for federal IT environments with an accent on Azure infrastructure, automation, and security. Focus on implementing Terraform for IaC, optimizing AVD environments, and ensuring compliance with federal security frameworks like NIST and FedRAMP.

Location: Hybrid, On-site 4 days/week in Washington, D.C. and 1 day Telework

What you will do

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, including VMs, VNets, Storage, and PaaS services.
  • Develop and maintain Terraform templates as the primary tool for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Configure and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including host pools and FSLogix profile containers.
  • Build and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines in GitLab using PowerShell, Bash, and YAML/JSON.
  • Implement secure cloud practices aligned with NIST, RMF, and FedRAMP federal requirements.
  • Analyze system health and enforce SLAs using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret or higher clearance are required.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Washington, DC four days per week.
  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Systems Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure Cloud Engineering, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) in production environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting DoD or federal agency cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), and Azure serverless tools (Functions, Logic Apps).
  • Experience with FinOps and Azure Cost Management for cost optimization.
