Salary: £70,000 - £85,000 per annum

What you will do

• Lead technical vision and architectural direction for complex backend systems, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Partner with engineering leadership to define best practices, coding standards, and long-term technical strategy.
• Design and develop production-grade software using Python, Django, Cloud Firestore, BigQuery, and Elasticsearch.
• Mentor and guide engineers at all levels to foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional product, data, and design teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance system performance and developer productivity.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of backend software development experience, including tenure in senior or principal-level roles.
• Expertise in Python and proven experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and microservices at scale.
• Deep understanding of software architecture and cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
• Must be based in London to accommodate occasional travel.
