Music Design Intern (Gamedev)

Location: On-site in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Must be in commuting distance and able to work in the Netherlands.

What you will do

• Implement musical ideas into the game engine using custom-built technical tools.
• Work with musical stems from composers to ensure they fit specific game situations.
• Analyze the effect of music across different gameplay contexts and environments.
• Develop new technical methods for implementing music into the internal engine.
• Collaborate closely with the broader Audio Team, including dialog, sound design, and tech audio specialists.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Dutch school within a relevant field of study.
• Able to work on-site in the Amsterdam studio.
• Available for the duration of the internship.
• Musical background with a portfolio demonstrating understanding of the function of music in different contexts.
• Background in music scripting for interactive systems, audio middleware, or specialized software.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software, specifically Reaper.

Nice to have

• Experience with Max MSP or other node-based software.
• Talent for recognizing and utilizing specific musical elements to create new musical experiences.
