What you will do

• Lead the architecture and implementation of embedded and application-level software for safety-critical UAS systems, including flight controls and mission autonomy.
• Own technical ownership of major software components, driving decisions on tech stack, performance optimization, and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, GNC, and cybersecurity teams to integrate software into full-system flight demonstrations.
• Architect and evolve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and AWS for cloud-edge hybrid environments.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through in-depth code reviews and the establishment of engineering best practices.
• Support qualification and airworthiness processes in compliance with defense and aerospace standards (e.g., DO-178C).

Requirements

• 8–15+ years of professional software engineering experience in high-reliability or safety-critical systems (aerospace, defense, or automotive).
• Deep expertise in C# and proficiency in C/C++, Python, or Matlab/Simulink for real-time and embedded workflows.
• Proven track record designing autonomy stacks, flight-critical applications, or mission systems for UAS and robotics.
• Advanced mastery of Git/GitHub workflows, Visual Studio, and automation scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Strong experience building CI/CD systems via GitHub Actions and deploying software in AWS or hybrid cloud environments.
• Must have U.S. person status; ability to obtain and maintain security clearance is highly preferred.
