PhD Position in High-Performance CMOS Phase-Locked Loop Design (CMOS/RF): Developing and optimizing new PLL architectures for next-generation wireless communication with an accent on ultra-low-jitter and low-spur performance. Focus on system-level modeling, transistor-level circuit design, and experimental validation on fabricated silicon chips.

Location: Delft, Netherlands. Must be able to relocate to the Netherlands

Salary: €3,059 – €3,881 gross per month

What you will do

• Explore and develop innovative PLL architectures and their key building blocks.
• Perform system-level modeling and architectural exploration.
• Execute transistor-level circuit design, simulation, and verification.
• Translate architectural concepts into integrated circuit implementations.
• Evaluate performance through measurements on fabricated silicon chips.

Requirements

• M.Sc. degree in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong background in analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design.
• Hands-on RTL design experience using SystemVerilog, Verilog, or Verilog-AMS.
• Strong command of English (spoken and written).
• Ability to relocate to the Netherlands.
• Demonstrable creativity and originality in problem solving and circuit design.

Nice to have

• Prior tape-out experience.
• Familiarity with the digital back-end flow, including synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure.
