What you will do

• Handle original research papers and review materials, providing well-reasoned and timely editorial decisions.
• Solicit primary research content in strategic priority areas such as synthetic biology and cancer genomics.
• Manage the peer-review process in collaboration with a global editorial team.
• Engage with the international research community through conferences and site visits.
• Collaborate with other editors in the Nature family to influence the representation of genomic fields.

Requirements

• PhD in medical or biological sciences, ideally with post-doctoral research experience.
• Broad interest and expertise in genome engineering, synthetic biology, and clinical development.
• Ability to assess the novelty, context, and implications of research from various disciplines.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Strong organizational and time management skills to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Must be based in or able to work from Shanghai (China) or Madrid (Spain).
