Product Engineer Intern (AI)

Product Engineer Intern (AI): Shaping the next generation of AI-powered data product tooling within hirify.global’s Data Intelligence Platform and Data Product Workbench with an accent on applying artificial intelligence to data contract and data product lifecycle challenges. Focus on building and integrating AI/ML features using Java, Python, and React, and collaborating with customers and the open-source community.

Location: US-Remote

Salary: $20 - $30 an hour

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deliver an AI-focused capstone project for data contracts or an AI-powered governance coach for data products.
• Build and integrate AI/ML features into hirify.global’s Data Product Workbench using Java, Python, and React.
• Collaborate with customers, partners, and the Bitol open-source community to validate requirements and gather feedback.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, code reviews, and design discussions with the product and engineering teams.
• Present your capstone project and findings at the Internship Showcase.

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science (junior standing or above preferred).
• At least one prior successful internship in software engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code.
• Hands-on experience with Linux deployment.
• Hands-on experience with Java (Springboot), Python, or React; familiarity with AI/ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, LangChain) is a plus.
• Interest in data management, data governance, or open standards (ODCS, ODPS).
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with external stakeholders (customers and partners).
