TL;DR

Product Owner Booster (Gamedev): Optimizing first-time user experience, onboarding, and activation flows for a complex live F2P game with an accent on data-driven decision making. Focus on improving retention metrics (D1/D3/D7), conducting UX research, and managing the development backlog to ensure long-term product growth.

Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Almaty, Kazakhstan

What you will do

  • Develop and refine FTUE, including onboarding flows, tutorials, and early gameplay sessions.
  • Analyze user behavior to identify friction points and growth opportunities using funnel and cohort analysis.
  • Define and track KPIs such as activation rates and early-stage retention.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Monetization, and LiveOps.
  • Manage the product backlog for the Booster/onboarding stream.
  • Conduct playtests, CustDev, and UX research to validate product improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience working on mid-core or hardcore F2P projects.
  • Deep expertise in early funnel optimization and FTUE metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define requirements for research dashboards.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Marketing, Monetization, and LiveOps departments.
  • Understanding of data-driven product development processes.

Nice to have

  • Experience with mobile mid-core or hardcore projects.
  • Knowledge of MMO/RolePlay (RP) game mechanics.
  • Background in systems game design or progression balancing.
  • Basic proficiency in SQL or Python for database querying.
