What you will do

• Design and build high-performance networking systems for the CloudFront edge network.
• Develop and optimize layer 4 packet processing pipelines for ultra-low latency.
• Enhance TCP/IP stack behavior for performance and congestion control at scale.
• Build real-time DDoS detection, mitigation, and traffic shaping systems.
• Analyze large-scale network telemetry to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Own critical dataplane services through the full development lifecycle, including operations and incident response.

Requirements

• Must be based in Dublin, Ireland
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Professional experience in C or C++ software development.
• Deep knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, SSL, DNS, HTTP/S).
• Strong Linux or Unix systems administration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with internet routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
• Familiarity with packet processing frameworks like eBPF, XDP, or DPDK.
• Experience with DDoS detection systems and traffic filtering at scale.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Bash.
