Cg Supervisor

Location: Hybrid in Vancouver, British Columbia; candidates must be based in British Columbia and eligible to work in Canada.

Salary: CAD 143,000–165,000 per year for a 40-hour work week.

hirify.global is a Vancouver-based visual effects studio creating digital effects for feature films and television, including CG animation, compositing, visualization, and volumetric effects.

What you will do

• Provide primary technical leadership for VFX productions and define the CG methodology within the established pipeline.
• Collaborate with VFX Supervision, Production, Dev, Workflow, and artists to establish technical approaches and show requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and implement show-specific configuration files, scripts, tools, and production automation.
• Oversee shot execution, debugging, quality control, resource allocation, and render-performance optimization.
• Communicate client notes, provide technical feedback, and build consensus across creative, technology, and production teams.
• Mentor artists and department leads while contributing to pipeline standards, documentation, training, and technology development.

Requirements

• Must be based in British Columbia and eligible to work in Canada.
• At least 5 years of CG experience in high-end film and 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Expert knowledge of Arnold or a similar physically based renderer.
• Proven experience with Houdini, Maya, and Nuke.
• Strong leadership, communication, delegation, mentoring, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Experience defining CG strategies, managing technical workflows, completing bids, and optimizing render-farm usage.

Nice to have

• Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python.
