Quality Assurance Tester (Video Games)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa and work permit sponsorship is unavailable.

iRacing Studios develops and publishes motorsport racing simulations and games focused on authentic and realistic racing experiences.

What you will do

• Create detailed bug reports, communicate with developers, and perform verification testing to facilitate fixes.
• Execute test plans for new and existing features, systems, cars, and tracks across iRacing products.
• Generate qualitative and quantitative reports for management, developers, testers, and customers.
• Work with customers and customer support to identify issues and possible temporary workarounds.
• Test products using varied hardware, consoles, racing peripherals, and immersive devices.
• Support development processes and special projects across multiple iRacing Studios titles.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of active iRacing membership.
• Quality assurance application testing experience and/or equivalent application knowledge.
• Basic understanding of test methodologies and testing processes.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and datasets, including organizing and displaying data.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to evaluate experiences from multiple usability perspectives, patience, self-direction, and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Experience working with PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox consoles.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Work or undergraduate experience in software development, testing, computer science, engineering, vehicles, design, writing, or web development.
• Knowledge of software development, web technologies, and JIRA or other bug-tracking software.
• Programming expertise, 3D art skills, and web development knowledge.
• Experience with video game console development, testing, or console compliance testing and procedures.
• Knowledge of motorsports, racecraft, and vehicle dynamics.
• Experience building PCs, working with electronic hardware components, and using racing wheels, VR devices, and other immersive peripherals.
• Passion for oval and/or dirt racing.
• Experience and comfort working remotely.
