Previz Artist (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Previz Artist (Gamedev/Animation): Translating storyboards and animation sequences into 3D space to visualize and pre-plan episodes for the PAW Patrol series with an accent on set dressing, camera staging, and rough modeling blockouts. Focus on aligning technical workflows with production scope in Maya and Houdini to provide a solid foundation for the layout department.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid)

Salary: $1,500–$1,700 per week

What you will do

• Translate 2D storyboards into 3D space for episode pre-planning.
• Create rough models, camera positions, and set dressing to represent scale and staging.
• Manage Houdini stagings, groupings, and location files within production scope.
• Collaborate with CG Supervisors and the Series Director on technical and creative execution.
• Communicate WIP and completed progress to ensure cross-departmental alignment.
• Propose new tools and methodologies to improve location dressing techniques.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Previz or Scene Planner in animation production.
• Strong understanding of TV animation pipelines.
• Working experience with Maya and Houdini.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Shotgrid/Flow for task management and logging.
• Portfolio demonstrating expertise in modeling, previz, or layout work.
