Senior Backend Engineer (Web3): Leading the development and scaling of the core off-chain coordination service for multi-chain DeFi with an accent on TypeScript/NestJS, intent lifecycle management, and high-throughput system architecture. Focus on designing secure validation mechanisms, optimizing real-time data distribution, and ensuring system reliability under heavy traffic.

Location: Remote within the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa). Applications from outside this region will not be considered.

Salary: €110,000 – €140,000

What you will do

• Lead technical direction and development of high-availability, low-latency APIs using Node.js and NestJS.
• Develop advanced validation mechanisms for data integrity, signature checks, and fraud prevention within the intent lifecycle.
• Build and optimize real-time broadcasting infrastructure for validated data distribution.
• Monitor multi-phase system object lifecycles across distributed environments.
• Implement efficient data aggregation and caching strategies to improve execution coordination.
• Collaborate with smart contract and product teams on backend architecture documentation.

Requirements

• Must be based in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
• 5+ years of experience in building and scaling high-throughput backend services.
• Expert proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and the NestJS framework.
• Deep understanding of blockchain primitives including EIP-712 signatures and on-chain event indexing.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and real-time communication patterns (WebSockets, Redis).
• Proven ability to design fault-tolerant and highly available microservices.

Nice to have

• Experience with blockchain indexing services like The Graph or Goldsky.
• Familiarity with Intent-centric architectures or cross-chain message passing systems.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Kubernetes.
