Engineering Manager (Platform)

TL;DR

Engineering Manager (Platform): Responsible for people leadership, delivery ownership, and vendor coordination, translating long-term technical strategy into executable plans that support business goals. Focus on engineering standards and operational excellence across the company.

Location: Hybrid work model, requires office presence several times (preferably 1-3 days per week) in Warsaw, Poland. Relocation Package available.

Salary: 22 000 - 33 000 PLN (monthly)

What you will do

• Lead, support, and grow engineering teams, focusing on people development and sustainable delivery.
• Build a culture of ownership, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Own delivery across teams, ensuring clear priorities, realistic planning, and predictable outcomes.
• Manage and refine prioritization across infrastructure, operational, and enablement initiatives.
• Partner with senior engineers and Tech Leads to support platform modernization and cloud migration.
• Collaborate and negotiate with external vendors and technology partners.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineering Manager, IT Operations Manager, or similar, leading delivery-focused engineering teams (min. 4+ years).
• Experience managing infrastructure powering large-scale online services, ideally global systems.
• Strong people leadership style, combined with pragmatic execution.
• Comfortable managing teams working on complex, long-lived technical systems.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with senior engineers and technical leaders.
• Understanding of modern engineering practices, DevOps/SRE principles, and platform engineering concepts.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud and hybrid (cloud & on-prem) infrastructure, and migration to cloud.
• Experience with Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Varnish (or similar technologies).
